Building an inclusive and thriving local, national, and global community is central to all Bank of America’s actions. One of the ways the bank achieves this is through employee networks. The Disability Action Network (DAN) allows employees to develop volunteer events for disabled people in the community. While living in Chicago I was part of the leadership team for the Chicago chapter. One of my favorite things to do for DAN Chicago was writing, editing, designing, and publishing the monthly newsletter. During the pandemic, the newsletter was the only way to connect members, recruit new members, and organize events with the Chicago community. Bank of America recognized the DAN Chicago Newsletter with a global D&I award.
